Britt V. Bethea
Britt V. Bethea had a difficult choice of careers after high school. As talented musician, he was torn between a major in music, law and medicine.
But a family accident helped steer him toward a career in law. His father had been hit by a drunk driver causing his car to flip leaving him in the hospital for five days.
That accident narrowed the musician’s career choice. But he still continued his love for music, attending the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Following his music studies, he graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and minors in computer science and music. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Britt was born in Pensacola, FL, and grew up in Mobile, AL. He has always been an active participant in his school and community—during law school, he received the Judge Hodnett Academic Merit Scholarship and the Dean’s Service Award. Britt was also selected by his peers to join the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, and the Trial Advocacy Competition Class.
Britt was recruited by Will at church to come and join the firm. “We were sitting by ourselves in church one Wednesday night and this younger couple came over and thought we looked lonely,” recalled Britt. It was Will. He was looking for a new attorney for the firm and Britt was looking for a job as an attorney.
Today, Britt is a deacon in his church. He lives in Mobile with his wife and three children.
