Phantom Vehicle Accidents

Phantom Vehicle Accidents

March 3, 2021/in Car Accidents, Personal Injury

Car accidents can happen at any time. Not all car accidents involve one vehicle hitting another. Single car accidents happen all the time, however, not every single car accident is caused by the driver alone. When an accident is caused by a vehicle that was not hit during the accident, it is called a phantom vehicle accident. Phantom vehicle drivers can often cause an accident without even realizing it. Actions by other drivers on the road can cause you to have to react quickly, and while the result may not always be your car colliding with the other driver, you could still find yourself hitting a barrier, guardrail, ditch, or other hazard that can cause injuries and damage.  If your car accident case involves a phantom driver, it may be difficult to obtain compensation for your damages.

One of the most important things you can do following a phantom vehicle accident is to report it immediately. If you are able, take plenty of pictures and try to write down as much as you can about the situation. The more documentation you have, the better an injury lawyer can build a more solid case to get you the compensation you deserve.

After an accident, getting treatment should be a top priority. Often, even if you do not feel as if you have been injured, it is important to get checked out by a trained medical professional. Sometimes injuries from car accidents do not show up until the next day or even longer after the accident. If you have been injured in any way, it is important to get the treatment you need.

After an injury, legal issues can be very complicated, and solving those issues often involves knowledge of local practices, rules, and regulations. An attorney from far away is not going to know as many of the factors that could affect your case. You want an injury lawyer who has a strong knowledge of your local community, so that he or she can see all the unique angles to your case.

In addition, familiarity with local courts can be a very important part of hiring a local law firm.  Attorneys who try cases before local judges will have a distinct advantage over those who have not.  A local attorney will have developed a rapport with the judges and their staff, which can help when representing you if your case goes to trial.

At Greene & Phillips, our primary focus is on making sure our clients are healing and getting the medical attention they deserve. These recoveries and testimonials are not an indication of future results. Every case is different, and regardless of what friends, family, or other individuals may say about what a case is worth, each case must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances as they apply to the law. The valuation of a case depends on the facts, the injuries, the jurisdiction, the venue, the witnesses, the parties, and the testimony, among other factors. Furthermore, no representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
