The Greene & Phillips player of the week is Vigor junior running back Demetris Johnson.

The Greene & Phillips Player of the Week recognizes not only the top talent in high school sports, but also great teammates, hard workers, and most improved athletes along the Gulf Coast, Birmingham, and throughout Alabama.

Johnson took over in the second half of the Wolves’ 39-26 Region 1 win over UMS-Wright, rushing for 135 yards and three touchdowns after being held to just one yard before halftime.

Head Coach Renardo Jackson praised Johnson as “a dynamic player with the heart of a champion- small in stature, but big in impact.”

The Wolves are now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 1, and they’ll host Citronelle this Friday night.
