The AHSAA Radio Network Coastal Alabama Male Track & Field Athlete of the Year presented by Greene & Phillips is UMS-Wright Junior track Athlete Peyton Holderer.

Peyton was the Mobile area’s most dominant middle distance/distance runner throughout the season, winning the Invitational Boys mile at the Mobile Challenge of Champions 1600 meter Run (4 minutes 19.50 seconds) and winning the 800 meter run (1:58.15) and the 1600 meter run (4:28.70) at the Mobile County Championships.

He showed his dominance in the Class 6A Sectionals by winning the 800 meters(157.22), 1600 meters (4:36.73), and the 3200 meters (9:58.59). At the 6A State Championships, Peyton was 3rd in the 3200 meters(9:27.16) 2nd in the 1600 meters ( 4:14.20) and 7th in the 800 meters (1:59.75)

The Greene & Phillips Player of the Week recognizes not only the top talent in high school sports, but also great teammates, hard workers, and most improved athletes along the Gulf Coast, Birmingham, and throughout Alabama.
