Greene & Phillips Supports Literacy with Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama

At Greene & Phillips, we’re passionate about giving back to our community. One way we do this is through promoting literacy and education, particularly among students.  That’s why we were thrilled to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama at their recent Gulf Coast Book Festival and read to children from kindergarten to fifth grade.

The Importance of Literacy

Reading opens a whole new world for children. Literacy is a fundamental building block for success in school and throughout life. It helps children develop essential skills such as:

  • Improved communication
  • Enhanced critical thinking
  • Expanded vocabulary
  • Increased knowledge
  • Greater empathy and understanding of the world around them

Our Involvement with the Boys & Girls Club

Greene & Phillips lawyers, staff, and family took time to read to students attending the 2024 Gulf Coast Book Festival. The Judge even made an appearance! It was amazing to see the young faces light up as they were immersed in stories. We believe events like this foster young minds and instill a lifelong love of reading. Along with hosting a story stage.  The firm donated water and provided the use of both of our tents.

“Literacy is about more than just reading words on a page,” said David Greene, founding partner of Greene & Phillips. “It’s about igniting imagination, fostering creativity, and empowering the next generation.”

How Can You Get Involved?

There are many ways to support the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama and their literacy programs. Here are a few ideas:

  • Donate: Your financial support helps make events like the Gulf Coast Book Festival possible and provides valuable resources for children. The vast majority of donations go to purchasing books to give to kids who attend!
  • Volunteer your time: Read to children, mentor a student, or assist with a club activity.
  • Become an advocate: Help spread awareness of the importance of literacy and the great work being done by the Boys & Girls Club.

Let’s work together to build a stronger, brighter future for the children of South Alabama.

These recoveries and testimonials are not an indication of future results. Every case is different, and regardless of what friends, family, or other individuals may say about what a case is worth, each case must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances as they apply to the law. The valuation of a case depends on the facts, the injuries, the jurisdiction, the venue, the witnesses, the parties, and the testimony, among other factors. Furthermore, no representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
