Josh Flowers – Baker High School – Player of the Week

August 30, 2023/in Athlete of the Week, Community, Player of the Week

Highschool football season has begun!  Congratulations to this week’s 1st and 10 Player of the Week presented by Greene & Phillips, Mississippi State commit, Josh Flowers. The Baker High School quarterback showcased his exceptional skills in last week’s match against Theodore High School. He ran for two touchdowns, threw for three more, and played a pivotal role in Baker High School’s impressive 36-20 victory. Josh’s ability to lead his team with confidence and determination was evident throughout the game. His strategic decision-making and precision passes demonstrated his prowess as a quarterback.

Coach Steve Normand said of Josh, “He’s a very humble individual. He’s very calm under pressure. So having somebody like that and being the leader that he is on and off the field, it makes makes my job a lot easier. He really picks out the things Monday through Thursday that he’s doing wrong and try to get them right on Friday. That’s a great quality to have in a Quarterback.”

Despite his outstanding performance, Josh attributes his success to the hard work and dedication he puts into his craft. In the interview, he expressed his gratitude for being recognized as the Player of the Week, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the support he receives from his teammates. Josh’s calm demeanor under pressure and his commitment to self-improvement make him an exceptional leader both on and off the field.

Attorney Stephen Collins, presented the year’s first award to Josh during the team’s afternoon practice on Tuesday. During the presentation, Collins expressed his gratitude that Greene & Phillips could sponsor the Player of the Week award and recognize outstanding talent. He said “Josh and the Hornets had a great game this last week.”

Greene & Phillips is a a proud sponsor of the Player of the Week award which recognizes one outstanding high school football player each week of the season as part of Fox 10’s 1st and 10 programing.
