The Greene & Phillips Player of the Week is Fairhope Pirates Junior Quarterback Trey Garner. The Greene & Phillips Player of the Week recognizes not only the top talent in high school sports, but also great teammates, hard workers, and most improved athletes along the Gulf Coast, Birmingham, and throughout Alabama.

This week, he led his Pirates to a 38-21 win over their archrival Daphne Trojans. Garner threw 3 touchdown passes and ran for 2 more in this annual rivalry. Garner was 15-25 passing for 224 yards. His touchdown runs of 5 and 11 yards kept the Trojan defense off balance most of the night. This win improved the Pirates season record to 7-2 and their 7A Region 1 record to 5-1. The Pirates of Head Football Coach Tim Carter, will now face Coach Eric Scott’s Baker Hornets this Friday night in a very important 7A Region 1 match up at Clem Richardson Stadium on the campus of Baker High School.
