About David

When J. David Greene owned his own landscaping business he knew he was one injury away from financial devastation. That’s why he chose to help others when he graduated from law school.

He knows the stress of meeting bills.

Early Life

David grew up in Mobile, AL, the son of a paper mill worker and a school teacher. Unlike a lot of lawyers in his field, David didn’t begin his career in law.

Education and Early Business

After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a degree in communications and marketing, David worked in south Alabama as regional sales manager for a manufacturer in New York. Two years later he launched his own landscaping company based in Mobile. David’s humble beginnings give him a unique ability to relate to juries effectively, which translates into more money for your injury claim.

After building his successful landscaping company, David attended Jones School of Law in Montgomery, AL where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Upon becoming a licensed attorney, he and Will Phillips founded Greene & Phillips Attorneys at Law in Mobile. Greene & Phillips started out in a small house with two lawyers and one secretary. Today, they have a large staff and are located in a three-story building along North Florida Street in midtown Mobile.

Founding of Greene & Phillips

With complimenting business and core philosophies, David and Will have spent the years growing the firm into what it is today, successfully handling large caseloads. David enjoys his role as the Managing Member of Greene & Phillips. Greene practices in several areas of law including wrongful death, auto accident, job site accident, and catastrophic injury.

Notable Settlements

David was lead attorney in a landmark trucking case involving a college student who was brain injured and rendered a quadriplegic. David along with his law partners Will G. Phillips and Britt V. Bethea successfully litigated and ultimately settled the case for $9.5 million dollars.

Conferences and TV Appearances

David is a frequent guest expert on the local Fox affiliate’s Studio 10 program discussing various injury related topics, and he was asked to speak to other injury attorneys at the 2013 Atlas Law Conference in Washington DC.

Instrument Rated Pilot

As a licensed instrument-rated pilot with high performance, high altitude endorsements, David regularly flies the firm’s airplane to meet with clients and case experts. His experience as a pilot also helps tremendously in aviation related injury cases due to the extensive and sometimes complex nature of aviation policies and procedures.

Family and Community

David and his wife Tonja have three children, J., Kara Beth, and Alex. The Greenes are members of North Mobile Baptist Church and David is a board member of the Alabama Independent Colleges and Universities.

These recoveries and testimonials are not an indication of future results. Every case is different, and regardless of what friends, family, or other individuals may say about what a case is worth, each case must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances as they apply to the law. The valuation of a case depends on the facts, the injuries, the jurisdiction, the venue, the witnesses, the parties, and the testimony, among other factors. Furthermore, no representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
