The Greene & Phillips Player of the Week award recognizes local athletes for their extraordinary performances on and off the field. This week, we are proud to announce a young quarterback who showcased an incredible game that left everyone in awe.
FOX 10’s Sports Director, Emily Cochran, presented the award on Tuesday afternoon at Millry High School to junior Quarterback Daylon Edmunds. Daylon’s exceptional performance in Friday’s game saw him throw for a staggering 293 yards, culminating in four touchdown passes. Not stopping there, he showcased his versatility by running for 98 yards on just ten carries, securing an additional three touchdowns. With his leadership, Millry High School clinched a dominant 57-0 victory over Washington County. It’s performances like these that highlight why Daylon Edmunds is our Greene & Phillips Player of the Week.
Daylon, humbly acknowledging his achievement, credited his teammates for the support, “It means a lot and just being able to get back to the community you know that put so much into me again me where I am today.”
Wildcats Head Coach, Shane Hendry, remarked, “He don’t want to have a whole lot of limelight to himself, but he’s a good kid and he’s a good leader.”
David Greene commented, “Congratulations to Daylon Edmonds of Millry High School on a fantastic week, Seven touchdowns. What a fantastic player. We look forward to see what’s going to happen in the future.”
With week six of the football season behind us, countless local high school players showcased their skills on the field, setting benchmarks and raising the bar of excellence. However, the spotlight shone brightest on Shamburger. The sophomore quarterback exhibited incredible talent, completing 20 out of 25 passes for a remarkable 244 yards and securing three touchdowns. His exceptional performance proved pivotal in the Toros’ rally, leading them to a 35 to 27 victory against Daphne.
David Greene presented the coveted Player of the Week to Aaden Shamburger. After the presentation, Aaden reflected on the unwavering support he received from his family. He remarked, “All the hard work that I put in through the summer with my dad, my brothers, and all my family members and their dedication to me means a lot.” The talented quarterback emphasized the importance of dedication, asserting that continuous effort inevitably translates into success on the field.
Coach Chase Smith showered praise on Aeden, emphasizing his sterling character and commendable work ethic. “Aaden was a huge factor, taking the lead offensively as a quarterback. He executed at a high level, especially during the second half,” said Smith. The coach went on to laud Aaden’s leadership, particularly impressive given his young age.
David Greene chimed in on Aaden’s prowess, stating, “20 of 25 passing is wonderful for anybody, 244 yards and three touchdowns for a sophomore, this young man is going to have a lot of colleges looking at him. A fantastic player of the week.”
Congratulations to Aaden and the Toros for their triumphant win against Daphne and a big thank you to Emily Cochran and Fox 10 TV for their help as we recognize and celebrating young athletes throughout the season.
Player of the week is an initiative by Greene & Phillips Injury Lawyers to highlight local sporting talent and underscore the importance of fostering community spirit and sportsmanship.
Dealing with an insurance company after a car wreck can feel like a maze. Recently Attorney David Greene joined Chelsey Sayasane on Studio 10 to provide a step-by-step process for handling a car wreck claim with the insurance company.
1. Understand the Insurance Company’s Game
While insurance companies aren’t bad, their business is making money. They do that through a model built on collecting premiums and minimizing payouts. Knowing this fact can help you understand why they might seem difficult to work with. If you feel like you’re getting the run around, you can level the playing field by hiring a personal injury lawyer. They understand the business model, the law, and can represent your best interests effectively.
2. Be Careful What You Say
Insurance adjusters are well-trained in guiding conversations in ways that benefit their company. One wrong answer could jeopardize your entire claim, especially in states like Alabama which have rules aligning with the contributory negligence doctrine. That’s why we always suggest consulting with a lawyer who deals with this type of case before talking to the insurance company. They can guide you on what to say and how to say it to protect your interests.
3. Recognize Red Flags
If an insurance company quickly offers you a check, don’t rush to accept it! Quick settlements often don’t account for the full scope of your claims such as future medical bills or ongoing emotional trauma. Any quick settlement offer should be seen as a red flag. Consult with a lawyer before making any decisions.
4. Take Immediate Action
Once you’ve been in a wreck, getting ahold of evidence and witness statements is crucial. At Greene & Phillips Injury Lawyers, we employee trained investigators who know exactly what kind of evidence to collect. They can lock down your story and the evidence such as security camera footage and witness statements which become more difficult to find the longer you wait.
5. Get Expert Guidance
A personal injury lawyer can help guide you through the legal maze, from ordering your medical records to advising you on whether to settle or go to trial. When shopping for law firms, choose one that has experience in handling various aspects of personal injury cases, from investigation to litigation.
Navigating the insurance maze doesn’t have to be a solo journey. With these steps, you’ll be better equipped to handle the intricacies of insurance claims. Stay safe out there, and remember, expert help is always available.

Week five of the high school football season came to a close leaving many incredible performances in its wake. However, when it came to selecting our Greene & Phillips Player of the Week, only one stood out head and shoulders above the rest.
This time, our focus shifted towards Mary G. Montgomery High School, where Emily Cochran and David Greene recognized the the outstanding effort by Hornets quarterback, Jared Hollins. Hollins is a senior committed to South Alabama who managed to complete 11 of 13 passes for a staggering 182 yards and boasted four touchdowns in Friday night’s game. Thanks to Hollins’ superior performance, the Vikings clinched a resounding victory over Alma Bryant, finishing the game 42 to 7.
J. David Greene, managing partner of Greene & Phillips, presented the Player of the Week title emphasizing how South Alabama will be receiving an exceptionally talented player in the form of Hollins.
Hollins humbly deflects the praise towards his teammates. “It was a good performance. But I can’t do anything without the guys up front and my receivers catching the ball,” he said, highlighting the importance of teamwork in securing a win.
Hollins also expressed his gratitude for being recognized as the Player of the Week but emphasized that he is already looking ahead towards upcoming matches. “It’s always amazing to be appreciated. but I just got to put it behind me and get ready for this next week.”
Head Coach, Zach Golson, had nothing but praise for Hollins. He emphasized Hollins’ commendable leadership traits, stating, “He’s one of the best leaders I’ve ever been around.” Golson went on to describe Hollins as an “excellent young man, a great leader in our community, and an outstanding ambassador for our school.”
We extend heartfelt congratulations to Jared Hollins and the Vikings for their impressive performance against the Hurricanes. We also thank Fox 10 First & 10 for partnering with us in recognizing and celebrating talented high school athletes each week.
Personal injury law can be complex and confusing for if you’ve never encountered it before. Whether you have been involved in a car accident, slip and fall incident, or any other type of injury caused by someone else’s negligence, understanding personal injury law and the importance of hiring an experienced attorney can make a significant difference in protecting your rights and securing the compensation you deserve.
What is Personal Injury Law?
Personal injury law focuses on seeking justice and compensation for individuals who have suffered harm, injury, or loss due to someone else’s actions or negligence. In a typical car wreck case, the lawyer represents your interests when you are injured in an accident that’s not your fault. These accidents can range from slip and fall incidents, trucking accidents, worker’s compensation claims, and more. By consulting a personal injury lawyer, you can ensure that your best interests are taken care of throughout the legal process.
Why Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?
It’s crucial to have a legal professional who can advocate for your rights and ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve. In the aftermath of a car crash or any other type of accident, victims often find themselves unsure of what steps to take. Consulting a local personal injury lawyer is essential to navigate through the legal complexities and maximize your chances of obtaining a fair settlement.
Differentiating Personal Injury Law from Criminal Charges
While personal injury law focuses on civil cases seeking monetary damages, criminal charges are an entirely separate matter. Criminal charges are pressed by prosecutors, such as district attorneys or the state attorney general’s office, and involve legal consequences for the accused. In personal injury cases, the primary objective is to seek financial compensation for losses and injuries suffered.
Paying for Personal Injury Legal Services:
Greene & Phillips operates on a contingency fee basis. This means clients only pay if their case is successful and they receive financial compensation. By offering this arrangement, we can ensure that individuals who may not have been able to afford legal representation can still access quality services without upfront costs.
Determining if You Have a Personal Injury Case
One common question that arises is how individuals can determine if they have a personal injury case. It’s hard to know without consulting a lawyer. The best way to find out is to contact an attorney’s office like Greene & Phillips. Learning if you may have a case is quite easy. Fill out a contact form or just call. Jamar had an incredible performance in Friday’s victory over the Davidson Warriors, passing for 323 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He also added 48 rushing yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. What an impressive all-around game helping lead his team to a crucial win.
Jamar was very humble when accepting the award, giving credit to his teammates for their roles in the success. As a quarterback, he clearly understands the team aspect of the game and that individual stats are a reflection of everyone’s contributions. At the same time, he acknowledges there is always room for improvement and seems focused on continued development.
Coach Kenny King provided insightful perspective on Jamar’s abilities from both a physical and mental standpoint. With not only tremendous athletic gifts but also exceptional football IQ,
On Malone’s 5 touch downs, David Greene commented, that’s phenomenal for a quarterback, “This young man is someone for everybody to watch. He’s got a great career here at Daphne High School, but the next level is going to be something special for this young man.”
Be sure to keep an eye on Jamar Malone and the Daphne Trojans going forward. It should be exciting to see what this dynamic junior quarterback can accomplish both this season and in the future.
While many people may hesitate to pursue legal action, understanding the role of an attorney can make a significant difference in maximizing the value of a personal injury claim such as a car wreck, slip and fall, or dog bite. There are a few key misconceptions about hiring a lawyer you should know before you decide against hiring one.
Misconception 1: Hiring a Lawyer means Filing a Lawsuit
One of the primary misconceptions about hiring a personal injury attorney is that it automatically leads to filing a lawsuit. Not every case requires going to court. Injury attorneys possess the knowledge and expertise to build a strong case or claim and communicate effectively with insurance adjusters. By presenting your case in the right format and language, attorneys can negotiate with insurance companies to ensure you receive the compensation you deserve often without filing suit or stepping foot in a courthouse.
Misconception 2: Anybody can Beat the Insurance Company
David Greene’s 25 years of experience in the field highlights the importance of hiring a knowledgeable attorney. At Greene & Phillips, their team includes former claims handlers for insurance companies, giving them a deep understanding of the rules and the value of your claim. By assessing the situation, attorneys can advise you on whether filing a lawsuit is necessary, considering factors such as the potential need for subrogation and paying back hospital liens.
Misconception 3: Health Insurance Will Not Seek Reimbursement for Medical Bills
Subrogation refers to the process of reimbursing your health insurance for medical bills they have covered. Many individuals assume that their health insurance provider should bear the responsibility for these expenses. However, health insurance companies often have the right to seek reimbursement from you out of whatever settlement you get. Hiring a lawyer ensures that subrogation matters are handled appropriately, protecting your health coverage and ensuring all parties involved are paid accordingly.
Misconception 4: Most Lawsuits go to Trial
Most personal injury cases do not go to trial. Instead, attorneys work towards reaching a settlement with the insurance company pre-litigation. Settling a case involves understanding the language of insurance companies, presenting your case effectively, and negotiating on your behalf. Ultimately, the goal is to secure fair compensation for your injuries and damages.
Conclusion:
In summary, by enlisting the expertise of injury attorneys like those at Greene & Phillips, you can navigate the complexities of personal injury claims while maximizing the value of your case. Injury attorneys bring extensive experience, knowledge of insurance company processes, and the ability to communicate effectively, ensuring that you receive fair compensation for your injuries.

We’re celebrating Week 3 of high school football in Mobile with this week’s Greene & Phillips Player of the week, Carlos Benjamin Jr from Vigor High School. Attorney J. David Greene joined Fox 10’s Emily Cochran to award Carlos on his incredible performance Friday night to help leading the Wolves to a comeback 34 -28 victory over the Citronelle Wildcats.
Facing a 7 point deficit late in the 4th quarter, Carlos carried the ball 14 times for an amazing 198 yards and 4 touchdowns. His biggest play of the night came on a 99 yard touchdown run that tied the game and sent it to overtime.
When accepting the award from Greene and Phillips Injury Lawyer, David Green, Carlos was humble about his achievement. He said he “just had to put my team on the back and do what I had to do the best”. Coach, Markus Cook, was not surprised by the performance, saying Benjamin prepares well by watching film and knows the plays.
More impressive than his skills on the field is Carlos’s dedication in the classroom. Cook reported that he currently has straight A’s, showing his commitment to success both on and off the field. Carlos encourages his teammates to “stay together” and never give up.
After handing out the award, David Greene praised Carlos for his work ethic and abilities. “He’s going to do great things in the future. I’m so proud of Carlos.”
It’s clear that Carlos Benjamin Jr is a talented football player and leader for the Vigor High School Wolves. With performances like the one that earned him player of the week, he is sure to help lead his team to more victories this season. Kudos to him and thank you to Fox 10 for letting us partner with them in highlighting high school athletics in the community.
Being involved in a hit and run accident can be a stressful experience, but it’s important to remember that you still have legal options. Recently Attorney David Greene met with Chelsea Sayasane on Studio10 to talk about what steps you can take after a hit-and-run wreck to project your legal rights.
1. Stay Calm and Report the Incident:
When faced with a hit and run situation, it’s crucial to remain calm and take immediate action. If possible, move the vehicle to a safe location out of the way of traffic. Call 911 to report the accident. Contacting the police and obtaining an official report is crucial to establishing your case.
2. Seek Medical Attention
Your well-being should be a top priority. Even if you don’t have visible injuries, it’s essential to get checked by a doctor. Some injuries may not manifest immediately, and having a medical record will be valuable for your case.
3. Check for Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Check to see if you have uninsured motorist coverage on your insurance policy. This coverage protects you in the event that you are involved in an accident with a driver who either has no insurance or inadequate insurance to cover your injuries. Make sure to review your policy and ensure you have this coverage in place. If you are unsure what to look for, stop by our office, and we’d be happy to show you what to look for.
4. Understanding Phantom Vehicle Accidents
A phantom vehicle accident refers to a situation where a crash occurs or someone forces you off the road, but they flee the scene. In such cases, it’s essential to consult an experienced lawyer who can guide you through the legal process. Laws governing phantom vehicle accidents may differ from state to state, so seeking professional advice is crucial.
Seeking Legal Advice
We strongly advise seeking legal advice from someone who handles this type of case as soon as possible after a hit-and0-run accident. Even before you talk to your own insurance company, be sure to consult with a lawyer who can help protect your rights and ensure you receive the compensation you deserve. Insurance adjusters may ask questions that can potentially harm your case without you realizing it.
Experiencing a hit-and-run accident can be a traumatic event, but knowing the right steps to take can make a significant difference in the outcome. Remember to stay calm, report the incident to the police, seek medical attention, and consult a car wreck lawyer like Greene & Phillips Injury Lawyers. We can provide you with the necessary guidance and support to navigate the legal process and help you obtain the compensation you deserve.

Butler had a standout performance on Friday as the Warriors took on Hillcrest-Evergreen in their brand new stadium for the first game. DJ ran for an incredible four touchdowns and added another score through the air, leading Davidson to a resounding 59-46 victory. His big night helped the Warriors get their season off to a perfect 1-0 start in their new home.
DJ was certainly thrilled with his performance but gave most of the credit to his teammates. “I feel like I just contributed to my team and try to just do my role the best I can,” Butler said modestly. Winning this award meant a lot to the talented running back. “It shows that we’ve been out here putting in the summer work and everything, you know, doing all we can.”
Davidson head coach Rick Cauley was full of praise for Butler. “You know, he got off to a really quick start. We got a turnover and scored a couple plays after that and it really never stopped,” Cauley noted.
Off the field, DJ is described as a great kid who’s really down to earth and very mature. He enjoys photography in his spare time and can often be found documenting other Davidson sporting events behind the lens of a camera.
“DJ’s a wonderful young man, fantastic athlete,” Attorney David Green said of the Coastal Carolina commit, “Congratulations to DJ and the Warriors!”
Butler has clearly worked very hard to put himself in a position to succeed this season. With his talent and character, we expect big things from DJ as the season continues and his college career with the Chanticleers . On behalf of the lawyers and staff at Greene & Phillips, we’d like to congratulate DJ Butler on being named our Athlete of the Week!
